WHAT'S IN A SNICKERS BAR?

SNICKERS BAR — NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE

January 2024

Once upon a time, Snickers was linked to professional athlete as “a snack that’s going to hold you over till your next meal”.

THEN vs. NOW: Following is a comparison of the ingredients in a Snickers in 1958 vs. what’s in a Snickers in January 2024. There are ingredients in a Snickers bar today which were not in the 1958 recipe including Artificial Flavor and Palm Oil (although the ‘Vegetable Oil’ in 1958 is unspecified). Missing in the 2024 ingredients vs. 1958 are Malted Milk and Sweetened Condensed Milk. (Sources: Historical Snickers Package 1958; MARS Snickers Web site 1/24)

SNICKERS SIZE HAS BEEN REDUCED: In 1983, a Snickers bar weighed in at 2.00 oz./56.7g and in 2024 a Snickers weighs 1.86 oz./52.7g.
