WHAT'S IN LUNCHABLES DESSERTS?

RAPID REVIEW
February 2025
From working at Kraft for years, I know that Lunchables was originally designed for working women but the product format was so appealing to kids that the target quickly shifted to young children. Control and interactivity are two of the key attractions in Lunchables so the brand continues to design new products such as Lunchables desserts to entice kids to extend their usage beyond the main meal.
Lunchables from Kraft Heinz offers dessert options which contain numerous ingredients we would never use at home including multiple Chemical Preservatives, Artificial Colors and Artificial Flavors plus High Fructose Corn Syrup. (Source for ingredients: Kraft Heinz Lunchables Web site 2/25)
Seen below, Lunchables Dirt Cake contains 29 grams of added Sugar which is more than the American Heart Association recommends for a child for an entire day >> 25 grams. (Source: American Heart Association 2025) This Kraft Heinz product which the company states is “ . . . the perfect option for a convenient snack kids will enjoy any time of day!” also contains nine inclusions of ingredients banned at Whole Foods — ingredients which Whole Foods cite as “Unacceptable in food”.
Shown below, Lunchables S’mores Dippers also contain more added Sugar than the AHA recommends for a child for an entire day plus it contains seven inclusions of ingredients banned at Whole Foods including High Fructose Corn Syrup.
